Charlie Dare, Founder of Light on Yoga Somerset
Gentle, Beginners & General

Charlie is a devoted student of yoga and has been teaching for 10 years and practising since her early 20s. She has a deep interest in yoga philosophy and Vedanta and has studied Sanskrit and philosophy in India, which she weaves into her teaching. Charlie sees yoga as a steadying influence that guides her back to calm waters during the challenges of life. She travels to India annually to study with her teachers, Usha Devi and the Iyengar family at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune.

Students describe her classes as clear, focussed, supportive and uplifting.

George began practising Iyengar yoga in 2006. Ever since then, yoga has been a constant companion throughout her busy family life. She qualified as a teacher in 2017 and runs weekly classes in Bath and Somerset. George furthered her experience through extended training at the Iyengar Institute in India where she studied under Prashant and Abhijata Iyengar.

When not practising or teaching, George loves her daily walks with her bouncy Spaniel and spending time with her now, mostly grown children.
